Projects

Economic Growth in rural areas of the borough is a priority for Cheshire West and Chester Council. The Rural Growth team are currently working on a number of projects in line with the 2016 Rural Growth Strategy.

The Councils Rural Growth Team continue to develop projects and programmes under the four agreed strategic themes:

  • Rural Housing – Working with policy makers to ensure policy is growth aware, developing a rural housing tool kit, supporting the neighbourhood plan process.
  • Connectivity and accessibility – Formal partner on the Connecting Cheshire Partnership, delivery superfast broadband across Cheshire and Warrington.
  • Environment and sense of place – promoting the importance of our rural area, landscape and countryside to the economic growth of the sub region. Promoting Natural Capital. Supporting the long term sustainable management of the Sandstone Ridge.
  • Business skills and education – supporting growing and expanding businesses across Cheshire West. Supporting the equine sector and promoting career options.
